Montana's Department of Revenue determines property classification and market value. Within 30 days of the date on the classification and appraisal notice, an owner may request an informal review from the department, appeal directly to the county tax appeal board, or do both. A further appeal from the county board goes to the Montana Tax Appeal Board within 30 days. This is general information, not tax advice.
