Wicomico County property tax appeals

In Maryland, property assessments are set by the State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT), not by each county. Every property is reassessed on a three year cycle, with notices mailed in late December. A first level appeal goes to the SDAT Supervisor of Assessments within 45 days of the notice date, and there is no fee to appeal at any level. Further appeals go to the Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board, then the Maryland Tax Court.
